Head/Lead Teachers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements approved lesson plans and activities
  • Promotes positive interactions between families, staff and management
  • Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time, diapering and/or bathroom activities
  • Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a class of children
  • Assesses each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages
  • Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior
  • May open the school at 5:45 a.m.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree (Associates or above) in Child Development, Early Education or equivalent or a CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential or at least one year of experience
  • Meets requirements set out by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
  • Has knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards
  • Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others
  • Previous experience in a NAEYC childcare center
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Assistant Teacher

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists a classroom Lead Teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children
  • Promotes positive interactions between families, staff and management
  • Assists with snacks, meals, nap time, diapering and/or bathroom activities
  • Assists in assessing each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration and decision-making by the children
  • Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while giving clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior
  • May close the school at 6:30 p.m.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Must have experience with 6 week-12 year oldss
  • Must be enthusiastic, energetic, patient and nurturing
  • Bilingual a plus
  • A hardworking team player
  • Prior experience in a regulated child care/preschool facility is preferred
  • Course work in Child Deveopment/Early Childhood Education is preferred
  • Meets requirements set out by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
